Picture this: warm turquoise water up to your waist, the trade wind at your back, and a kite in your hands pulling you forward. That's your first two hours. St. Joris Bay is where Curaçao learns to kite. The water is flat, warm, shallow enough to stand in, and never crowded. It's just you and your instructor the whole time. What you'll walk away with: * Setting up a kite and using its safety systems * Steering it and controlling the power * Relaunching it from the water yourself * That first pull through the water, the moment you realize you're actually kiting You won't be riding a board after two hours, and nobody will pretend you will. But you'll know exactly how it feels, and most people leave the beach already planning day two. No experience, no fitness test, and you don't even need to be a strong swimmer. All gear is included, down to the rash guard and water shoes. Lessons are in English, Dutch, Spanish or Papiamentu. Only a few private lessons run each day, and the windy afternoons book first.
What's included
- A private instructor for two hours: One instructor, one student, the whole time.
- All kite gear and safety systems: Kite, harness, board and safety systems.
